Lets Build A Water Rocket

It doesn't look like much but it sure looks like it would be great to build and even greater to set off. I think this would be a great Troop project. It would have to be set off outside and everybody would get really wet now that sounds like even more fun. We will have to get together on this one and see what we need and how we can build it. ‘Scouting for Adventure’ TV show

Boys’ Life magazine has always given you stories about Scout adventures — from backpacking to kayaking and everything in between.

Now, BL is bringing its Scout adventure stories to The Outdoor Channel television network in the new series “Scouting for Adventure — Presented by Boys’ Life.” The six episodes stress key outdoors skills and capture Scouts in action in a variety of locations as they explore the wilderness.

The episodes were filmed at national high adventure bases and Scout camps across the country.

Catch the show on The Outdoor Channel at the following times:

16 Steps To Building A Campfire

Recently this was shared with me, and I thought it was so funny and yet true, that I just had to pass it on.

1. Split dead limb into fragments and shave one fragment into slivers.
2. Bandage left thumb.
3. Chop other fragments into smaller fragments
4. Bandage left foot.
5. Make structure of slivers (include those embedded in hand)
6. Light Match
7. Light Match
8. Repeat "a Scout is cheerful" and light match.
9. Apply match to slivers, add wood fragments, and blow gently into base of fire.
10. Apply burn ointment to nose.
11. When fire is burning, collect more wood.
12. Upon discovering that fire has gone out while out searching for more wood, soak wood from can labeled "kerosene."
13. Treat face and arms for second-degree burns.
14. Relabel can to read "gasoline."
15. When fire is burning well, add all remaining firewood.
16. When thunder storm has passed, repeat steps.
